PHOENIX (AP) - A man and his girlfriend have been arrested in connection with a deadly armed robbery at a Phoenix motel last month.

Phoenix police say 32-year-old Quincy Lofton was booked into jail Tuesday on suspicion of murder, robbery and possession of a weapon by a prohibited possessor.

Under Arizona law, suspects can be charged with murder if the crime they’re participating in comes with a reasonable likelihood of death.

Police say 31-year-old Fatuma Hassan was arrested on suspicion of hindering prosecution.

Quincy and Hassan were arrested Tuesday at a Tempe motel.

It’s unclear if they have lawyers.

Police say two masked men with guns entered a Motel 6 on Aug. 21.

One man jumped over the counter and was fatally shot by a security guard while the other man fled.
