GAINESVILLE, Ga. (AP) - A Hall County cross country coach has been hospitalized after being hit by a truck.

Media outlets report that 38-year-old Stacey Merck was on a run with Chestatee High School students Sunday morning when the mirror of a Dodge Ram struck her in the face. Her injuries were not life-threatening.

Chestatee High School Principal Suzanne Jarrard tells the Gainesville Times (https://bit.ly/2dnRACS ) that on Monday, Merck was at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta awaiting facial surgery.



No one else was injured.

Georgia State Patrol is investigating the incident.
