WEST CHESTER, Pa. (AP) - A former executive for a first-responder equipment supplier has pleaded guilty to stealing the company’s products and selling the items on eBay.
The Daily Local News of West Chester (https://bit.ly/2dpGjS6 ) reports that 56-year-old Thomas Wessells of Waterford, New York entered the plea Monday to a single count of theft by unlawful taking.
The former Witmer Public Safety Group executive didn’t comment at the hearing. A judge ordered a pre-sentence investigation.
Prosecutors say officials discovered the thefts when Wessells was fired from his position in 2014 as director of order fulfillment due to violating the company’s policy on computer use.
Authorities say a search of Wessells’ computer found an account linked to Wessells that showed more than 100 items were sold on eBay between 2013 and 2014.
