DWIGHT, N.D. (AP) - Authorities say the driver of semitrailer walked away from a fiery collision with a train in southeastern North Dakota.

The Highway Patrol says the semi driver failed to stop at a crossing near Dwight and was struck by a Red River Valley and Western Railroad train. The accident happened just before 11 a.m. Monday.

The semi driver, 30-year-old Mahamoud Hussein, of Minneapolis, was treated at a Breckenridge, Minnesota, hospital for minor injuries.

Red River Valley and Western Railroad President Nate Asplund tells KFGO radio (https://bit.ly/2cFZGUE) that the crash is an example of the consequences when drivers don’t pay attention at railroad crossings.
