Nashville police: Toddler shot 12-year-old relative in leg

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Nashville Metro police say a 2-year-old child accidentally shot his 12-year-old relative in the leg.

News outlets report that the unidentified toddler removed a revolver from a side compartment in his aunt’s vehicle and inadvertently shot Tyson Lucas on Sunday morning in the Donelson neighborhood while the 12-year-old was holding an infant. Authorities say the aunt had just driven to the home.

Police say Lucas was recovering at a hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators said in a statement that no charges had been filed in the case.
