CLINTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Authorities have identified the man wanted on an arrest warrant who escaped custody over the weekend while being transferred from one police agency to another northeast of Detroit.

Police say 21-year-old Nicholas Mosher, who remains at large on Monday, ran into a wooded area Saturday near Interstate 94 and 26 Mile Road. Clinton Township officers were turning him over to Marysville police when he broke free and escaped.

Marysville police say he wasn’t wearing handcuffs at the time of the transfer. He was last seen wearing hospital scrubs and had a cast on his left arm and wrist.

Authorities say Mosher had been convicted of domestic violence and aggravated assault of a police officer, and failed to appear for sentencing in July.
