CASPER, Wyo. (AP) - A Wyoming library has invested in a virtual reality system and an extensive video game collection.
The Casper Star-Tribune reports (https://bit.ly/2cyuGI1 ) that the Natrona County Public Library in Casper will make the virtual reality rig available for public use next month. It will also offer 300 games and convert some of the public computers to gaming systems.
The library says it is trying to appeal to the community after voters rejected ballot measures meant to help upgrade its aging facility.
Community Relations Coordinator Nathan McGregor says he sees video games as “just another medium of storytelling” and hopes they will bring more people into the library. He says the games are part of a public awareness campaign that has also included limited-edition library cards, social media and a technology demonstration.
