WASHINGTON (AP) - Three people were shot in the same Washington neighborhood where a man was killed hours earlier.

District of Columbia police say they discovered a man suffering from a gunshot wound at about 2:45 a.m. on Sunday in the 400 block of Riggs Road Northeast. He was pronounced dead on the scene. He has been identified as 22-year-old Marcellus Thomas.

That night, a man and two women were injured during another shooting nearby. All are expected to survive.

One of the victims was a 93-year-old woman who was struck as she walked through the door of her own home.

The woman told WRC-TV (https://bit.ly/2cGzUQ3 ) that she heard gunshots then felt something graze her back. She was treated and released.
