LOUISA, Va. (AP) - Officials say a mild earthquake was recorded in Louisa County.
The Richmond Times-Dispatch reports https://bit.ly/2dklFTV that the U.S. Geological Survey says the 1.6 magnitude earthquake happened around 11:30 p.m. on Saturday. It was centered west of Jackson and about 40 miles from downtown Richmond.
The agency says residents aren’t likely to feel a 1.6 magnitude quake.
A 5.8 magnitude quake that hit Louisa County in 2011 caused widespread damage.
