Breakfast, the old saying goes, is the most important meal of the day. Now for some kids in the Tulsa, Oklahoma, area, it may be the happiest as McDonald’s is testing out breakfast versions of its Happy Meals in 73 franchise locations there.
“Happy Meals customers will have a choice between two McGriddles, or a new Egg & Cheese McMuffin that comes without Canadian bacon,” USA Today reported Friday. “Kids can also pick two sides — apple slices or yogurt, , [sic] or, at lunch and dinner, kids’ fries. Hash browns will also be an option at certain restaurants.”
“All day breakfast has really been a big hit with our customers, and that started from our customers telling us this is what they wanted,’’ USA Today quoted McDonald’s Director of Innovation Pam Williams as saying. “Since the launch of all day breakfast, more of our customers have been reaching out to us and asking us for these choices for their kids in the Happy Meals.’’
On Wednesday, the fast-food chain expanded their all-day breakfast item, according to Business Insider.
When all-day breakfast debuted last October, McDonald’s franchises either offered Egg McMuffins or egg biscuit sandwiches, but not both items, on the all-day menu. The newly expanded menu offers both plus McGriddles sandwiches, which feature small maple-flavored pancakes in lieu of an English muffin or biscuit.
