PISCATAWAY, N.J. (AP) - Campus police at Rutgers University say they’re investigating an aggravated assault involving a shot fired on the school’s Livingston campus in Piscataway.

NJ. com (https://bit.ly/2dgVt8o) reports that Rutgers University Police Chief Kenneth Cop says two people were involved in a dispute in a parking lot shortly before 5 p.m. Friday. Witnesses say one person was armed with a machete and another had a handgun.

Cop says in a statement that the person with the gun fired at a vehicle parked in the lot before fleeing in an SUV. There were no injuries.



An investigation is continuing.
