PHOENIX (AP) - A 28-year-old Scottsdale man is accused of kidnapping an intoxicated woman by carrying her over his shoulder to a parking garage and driving her to his apartment before sexually assaulting her.
Rodolfo Andres Ramirez is being held without bond after appearing before a judge Thursday on suspicion of kidnapping, sexual assault and sexual abuse.
The 22-year-old victim had left a club early the morning of Sept. 17.
A defense attorney told a judge that there wasn’t evidence to find probable cause that Ramirez had committed the alleged crimes and said Ramirez either should be released or allowed to post bond.
But a judge agreed with a prosecutor there was evidence that the victim was sexually assaulted and that the victim was unable to consent to sex because she was unconscious.
