WASHINGTON (AP) - A former Washington nurse has been sentenced to just over 3 ½ years in prison for sexually abusing three emergency room patients.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia said in a statement that 39-year-old Jared Kline of Springfield, Virginia, was sentenced Friday. A judge sentenced Kline to 86 months in prison but suspended all but 45 months. Kline must register as a sex offender.
Prosecutors said Kline encountered the three female victims in separate incidents during 2013 and 2014 while working as a staff nurse at three different emergency rooms. Prosecutors said Kline thrust his genitals against the victims’ hands.
In June, a jury found Kline guilty of second-degree sexual abuse for three incidents, two with aggravating circumstances.
His attorney didn’t immediately return a call seeking comment.
