Deflecting concerns about the health of Hillary Clinton, Vice President Joseph R. Biden said even he is in better physical shape than Republican nominee Donald Trump.

“I’d like to jog with him. I don’t think he could keep up,” Mr. Biden, 73, told reporters while fundraising Monday night in Rock Hill, South Carolina.

Mr. Biden said the Clinton campaign intends to make her doctors available to reporters in the wake of her bout with pneumonia. He said the Democratic nominee’s campaign staff “screwed up.”

“The staff acknowledged that they should have, on Friday, just straight up said she’s been diagnosed with pneumonia,” he said.
