APOLLO, Pa. (AP) - Authorities say a man was arrested after allegedly tying up his estranged wife and threatening her with a gun before setting her western Pennsylvania home on fire.

Officials in Westmoreland County allege that the 53-year-old man showed up at the Washington Township home shortly before noon Saturday in violation of a protection-from-abuse order. They allege that he then tied up the woman and held a gun to her head.

She escaped and called police. Authorities allege that the man then set fire to the house, which burned to the ground.

Several hours later, a state police helicopter spotted the man lying unconscious in a nearby creek bed. He was taken to a hospital and a gun was recovered. Police said it wasn’t immediately clear what charges he would face.
