FARGO, N.D. (AP) - Wheat stocks are up in North Dakota, but stocks of other small grains are down.
The Agriculture Department says in its latest report that all wheat stocks in the state as of Sept. 1 totaled 317 million bushels, up just slightly from a year ago. On-farm stocks were down 2 percent but off-farm stocks were up 5 percent. Durum wheat stocks were up 36 percent.
Barley stocks totaled 66.6 million bushels, down 7 percent from 2015. Stocks of oats were down 33 percent, to 5.6 million bushels.
North Dakota corn stocks were down, while soybean and sunflower stocks were up.
