BOSTON (AP) - Thousands of Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts from across the region are gathering on the banks of the Charles River for a weekend of fun and adventure.
SOAR 2016 kicks off Saturday morning and runs until Sunday night.
SOAR - which stands for Scouting’s Outdoor Adventure on the River - features 150 activities and entertainment including zip lines, wall climbing, kayaking, tower climbing, storm the castle, robot building, video game design, archery and tomahawk throwing.
New England Revolution players will teach soccer skills, and local bands and musicians will perform throughout the day.
The event ends Sunday night with a fireworks display.
The general public is invited to participate.
SOAR is being held at Christian Herter Park along Soldiers Field Road in Brighton.
