ST. FRANCISVILLE, La. (AP) - A structure used for climbing in an obstacle race in St. Francisville has collapsed, sending several people to the hospital with injuries.

West Feliciana Parish Sheriff Austin Daniel tells The Advocate (https://bit.ly/2dJEEUp ) a gang of people were climbing on something and it collapsed during a Warrior Dash event at West Feliciana Sports Park. He says he believes the worst injury was a broken femur and head injury, but nothing life threatening.

Warrior Dash races are held in cities around the country and feature several obstacles, including ponds, mud and large objects that participants must climb and crawl over. The races are organized by Red Frog Events.

Warrior Dash spokeswoman Lauren King says organizers are evaluating the situation and they’re thoughts are with the injured participants and their families.
