YORKTOWN, Va. (AP) - Authorities have discovered a mobile methamphetamine lab inside a minivan following a two-vehicle collision in York County.
The York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office said in a statement that deputies discovered odors consistent with meth production coming from a minivan after they arrived at the crash scene on U.S. Route 17 on Thursday morning.
Deputies say a hazmat team found chemicals used to produce meth, containers actively cooking meth, as well as meth and a small amount of marijuana.
Twenty-seven-year-old Jennifer D. Kendrick, of Norfolk, was charged with meth possession. It’s unclear whether she has an attorney.
One deputy at the scene was taken to the hospital for exposure to chemical fumes while at the scene. His injury is not considered life-threatening.
