GREAT FALLS, Mont. (AP) - A Great Falls man is charged with endangering the welfare of a child who was found in a baby stroller, soaked in urine, as the intoxicated defendant tried to push the stroller while stumbling and falling.

Roger Jessen made an initial appearance Thursday before District Judge Elizabeth Best on the child endangerment charge as well as an intimidation charge that alleged he threatened to kill the arresting officer and his family. Jessen did not enter a plea and asked for a public defender. His bail was set at $10,000.

Court records say Jessen was arrested at about 9 p.m. Tuesday. Police say the child was cold, wet and crying.

Jessen told officers he was watching the child while her mother was at work. Court officials say the mother and child attended the hearing.
