CRANSTON, R.I. (AP) - Police are searching for the driver of a car that struck a Brown University student filming a documentary and then sped off.

Police say 20-year-old Charles Deery was hit from behind Thursday evening in Cranston, Rhode Island.

The New Canaan, Connecticut, man had been standing on the edge of the road with a camera and tripod when he was struck.

He was listed in fair condition at Rhode Island Hospital.

His parents tell WPRI-TV that he suffered a concussion and broken bones in a shoulder, hand and leg.

Police say the suspect’s car should have damage to the right-front passenger side, including the headlight, hood and windshield.
