PERINTON, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities have released the name of the motorist who was killed when he crashed into another vehicle while driving the wrong way on a suburban Rochester highway.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday identified the victim as 26-year-old Alfred Glass of Canandaigua in neighboring Ontario County.
Deputies say Glass was driving east in the westbound lanes of Interstate 490 around 2 a.m. Sunday when his car collided with a vehicle traveling west near the Pittsford-Perinton town line just southeast of Rochester.
Glass was declared dead at the scene and later identified by the Monroe County medical examiner.
The other driver was treated at a Rochester hospital for minor injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
