ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - Pope Frances has named a new archbishop for Alaska’s largest city.

The Catholic News Agency says the Vatican announced Tuesday the appointment of Bishop Paul D. Etienne of Cheyenne, Wyoming.

The 57-year-old Etienne will replace retiring Anchorage Archbishop Roger Schwietz.



Etienne’s installation date in Anchorage has not yet been announced.
