GOSHEN, Ind. (AP) - A mistrial has been declared in the case of a former Indiana day care provider charged in the death of a toddler in her care.
Jackie L. Rolston of New Paris faces battery on a child resulting in death. She was charged in the October 2014 death of 19-month-old Kirk Coleman, who died from blunt force trauma to the head.
Jurors were dismissed Tuesday morning after the judge found that they didn’t follow instructions. Court officials say that a juror shared information on a previous case involving Rolston.
A new trial date has been set for Nov. 28.
