AMERICAN FORK, Utah (AP) - A former college basketball coach charged with threatening an elementary school with a bomb has appeared in court.
The Daily Herald reports (https://bit.ly/2dQ9hqZ) a lawyer for Christopher Dewitt Craig of Eagle Mountain said Tuesday prosecutors had not made a plea deal offer yet. Lawyer Dustin Parmley says he expects to know more next week.
Police say the 35-year-old Craig drove up to the school with what he claimed was a car full of explosives. He gave himself up after recording a message to the media on a police robot.
The school was evacuated and no explosives were found.
Craig was arrested and charged with threats of terrorism, among charges.
Police say Craig was a player and then a coach before his rising career was derailed amid brushes with the law and apparent struggles with mental illness.
