WAREHAM, Mass. (AP) - Authorities are investigating after a 54-year-old man was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver in Wareham.

Wareham police received two 911 calls Monday night reporting that a man was struck by a white Ford pickup truck on Cranberry Highway. The callers said the motorist turned around and fled the accident scene after striking the man.

Police and emergency personnel found the victim lying in the middle of the road. Police identified the victim as Ernest Robert Raddatz of Wareham.



The man was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Wareham police and state police detectives assigned to Plymouth County District Attorney Tim Cruz’s office are investigating.
