PHOENIX (AP) - A former Maricopa County sheriff’s deputy who pleaded guilty to theft and drug paraphernalia charges has been sentenced to three years of supervised probation.
A Superior Court judge sentenced Scott Michael Walters on Monday.
Walters was arrested in 2015 as a result of an investigation into multiple robberies and attempted robberies in the Phoenix area.
At the time of his arrest, he denied any involvement in crimes but said he was a heroin addict.
Police searched his home and reported finding items believed to have been used in the robberies plus narcotic drugs, drug paraphernalia and a ledger documenting the sale of drugs.
