PITTSBURGH (AP) - A man has pleaded no contest to killing two men during a Pittsburgh shootout in which he was also wounded.
Twenty-six-year-old Michael St. Clair, of Beaver Falls, now faces up to 80 years in prison Jan. 3 in Allegheny County.
He pleaded no contest to third-degree murder counts for killing 17-year-old Diondre Dozier and 18-year-old Martin Brown in November 2014.
Prosecutors say St. Clair told a relative he fired gunshots during the confrontation in Pittsburgh’s Sheraden neighborhood.
Police say St. Clair told investigators he and a friend showed up to buy marijuana and were accosted by a man with an assault rifle and another man. But prosecutors say text messages on St. Clair’s phone indicate he planned to sell weapons at the meeting and rob someone.
