ASHLAND, Wis. (AP) - Authorities say a man was struck and killed after his truck went into the ditch in northern Wisconsin over the weekend.

The Ashland County sheriff’s office says 53-year-old Scott Bender of Bad River was struck by another vehicle as he tried to cross U.S. Highway 2 on Saturday night.

Bender was crossing the highway after his truck went into the ditch. A passer-by had stopped to help him when Bender was hit by an eastbound vehicle.

Authorities say darkness and fog had limited visibility at the time.
