ARLINGTON, Va. (AP) - Students and staff at Marymount University were briefly ordered to shelter in place after police received a report of a man with an object in his hand that might have been a gun.
Arlington County Police spokeswoman Ashley Savage said police received a report around 1 p.m. Monday of a man on campus carrying a dark object that might be a gun. Police searched the campus and issued an all-clear less than an hour later.
The university sent a notice on Twitter that police had received a report about a man on a campus parking lot.
Marymount is a coed, Catholic university with its main campus in the Ballston section of Arlington. About 2,300 undergrads attend.
