BOSTON (AP) - For sale in Boston this weekend: a scorecard from the 1915 World Series, an original illustration from one of the Harry Potter books and an act of Congress signed by Thomas Jefferson.
Those are among the highlights being sold at the Boston International Antiquarian Book Fair, which will feature more than 120 dealers from around the world selling rare and collectible books. Admission to the event at the Hynes Convention Center is free as the fair celebrates its 40th anniversary.
The Harry Potter illustration will cost $50,000, but organizers say there’s something for any budget. A Saturday panel will offer tips on starting a collection of antiquarian books, referring to books that are valued beyond just their contents. On Sunday, experts will offer free appraisals of items brought by visitors.
