KENNA, W.Va. (AP) - Several students were taken to hospitals after two school buses were involved in a crash in Jackson County.
Local news outlets report that Jackson County school officials say the incident happened Thursday morning in Kenna.
Assistant Superintendent Keith Burette says one bus bumped into the back of another bus. He says seven students, including five elementary school students, were taken to area hospitals. He says a couple others were also taken to the hospital by their parents.
Burdette says none of the children’s injuries appear to be serious.
There were 16 students on one of the buses, and 34 students on the other bus. The amount of damages to the buses is unknown.
Deputies investigated, but Burdette says he’s unaware of either driver being charged.
