PITTSBURGH (AP) - All outbound lanes of one of Pittsburgh’s busiest highways have reopened after a dump truck overturned spilling gravel on the road, but officials say there could still be heavy delays for a time.
The truck crashed and overturned on Interstate 376, known locally as the Parkway East, about 10:30 a.m. Friday. That happened just east of the Squirrel Hill Tunnel.
One eastbound lane out of the city reopened about two hours later and the other opened sometime after 2 p.m.
The cause of the crash and the driver’s condition were not immediately known.
The road is a key artery connecting the city with its eastern suburbs.
Traffic continued to be heavier than usual after the lanes reopened.
