NEW YORK (AP) - The New York Police Department is investigating the theft of four Torah scrolls from a Brooklyn synagogue.

Police say the theft occurred early Tuesday at the Avenue O synagogue in the Midwood neighborhood.

Security video shows a man wearing a yarmulke removing the scrolls, which are valued at $240,000.

Police say it’s not clear how he got into the synagogue.
