STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) - A man who lost a leg as a result of a car that crashed into the Oklahoma State University homecoming parade in 2015 and killed four people has filed a lawsuit against the driver.
Adacia Chambers has pleaded not guilty to four counts of second-degree murder and 42 counts of assault and battery in the crash that occurred Oct. 24, 2015, in Stillwater.
The Oklahoman (https://bit.ly/2f7yXDT0 ) reports that Leo Schmitz filed a personal injury lawsuit Monday against Chambers and is seeking more than $1 million in damages. Schmitz says he suffered two broken legs, brain damage and other injuries in the incident. His left leg had to be amputated.
Schmitz’s wife, Sharon, filed a separate personal injury lawsuit Monday. She is asking for more than $75,000 in damages.
