NEW YORK (AP) - Police say a 19-year-old New York City man who was placed in handcuffs during a traffic stop escaped custody after a second suspect began resisting arrest.

The incident occurred Monday night in the Bronx.

Police say the man was handcuffed as officers searched his car, then took off as the second man resisted arrest. His hands were still cuffed when he fled.
