HAMMOND, La. (AP) - Authorities are searching for a man wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of his ex-wife.
The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office said Monday that they’re looking for 53-year-old Jerry Williams Jr., who’s wanted for second-degree murder in 50-year-old Linda Williams’ death.
Deputies found Linda Williams shot dead Sunday morning in front of her Hammond home after receiving a call about the gunfire.
Sheriff’s office spokeswoman Dawn Panepinto said in a news release that the victim had been shot once in the head.
Panepinto says witnesses told police that after hearing shots, they saw the victim’s ex-husband leaving his ex-wife’s home in a red Mustang.
Detectives have since recovered the car.
