KAPLAN, La. (AP) - An adult and two toddlers have been killed in a fire at a home in Kaplan.

Multiple news outlets report that 22-year-old Felicie Cloteaux, 3-year-old Rory Hudson and 1-year-old Arabella Hudson all died of apparent smoke inhalation after the broke out early Sunday in their mobile home.

Louisiana State Fire Marshal Butch Browning says the home was likely already fully engulfed in flames by the time firefighters were contacted. Officials say three other residents escaped with minor injuries.

Browning says the fire began in the living room of the house. While officials haven’t yet determined what caused the fire, Browning says a preliminary investigation pointed to a possible electrical cause of the blaze.

Autopsies will be performed.

Officials say there were no working smoke detectors in the home.
