ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - New York has completed a new welcome center on Long Island to support local tourism and highlight locally made food and beverages.
Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced the grand opening of the 15,000-square-foot facility on Thursday. It’s located off the Long Island Expressway in Dix Hills in Suffolk County.
The welcome center will provide visitors with information about local destinations and tourist attractions. It will also include offerings from the state’s Taste NY initiative, which seeks to showcase food and beverages made within the state.
The facility has bathrooms and parking as well as law enforcement satellite offices.
