NEW ORLEANS (AP) - A New Orleans church is praying for peace and honoring law enforcement officers.
WDSU-TV reports (https://bit.ly/2dzKPNM ) that St. Peter Claver Catholic Church in Treme holds their special Blue Mass Sunday.
It is designed to show appreciation for men and women in law enforcement.
About two dozen officers were in attendance and received special blessing at the altar.
New Orleans Police Superintendent Michael Harrison says the service is special to him and his officers.
Rev. Asare-Dankwah told the congregation that the community and law enforcement should pray for one another daily and that they both need each other.
