BRODHEADSVILLE, Pa. (AP) - Authorities have released the names of a man and woman who were killed when their motorcycle hit a car in eastern Pennsylvania last week.

Officials in Monroe County said a motorcyclist cresting a hill on Toll Road in Chestnuthill Township on Wednesday afternoon ran into the rear of a car that had stopped for a school bus.

The county coroner’s office said 22-year-old Daniel Weir of Effort, who was operating the motorcycle, died at the scene. His passenger, 20-year-old Faith Villano of Pittston Township, was pronounced dead at Pocono Medical Center.

Authorities said speed was a factor in the crash. They said neither Weir nor Villano were wearing helmets.
