CRESTVIEW, Fla. (AP) - A Florida Panhandle man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for a drunken motorcycle crash that killed his passenger.
The Northwest Florida Daily News (https://goo.gl/3fpck0 ) reports that Brian Overfield was sentenced this week after pleading no contest in June to DUI manslaughter.
Authorities say Overfield was driving his Harley-Davidson motorcycle on a Crestview road in May 2015 when he lost control. The bike hit a traffic sign and power pole, seriously injuring Overfield and killing Paula Inman.
Overfield’s blood-alcohol level was recorded to be 0.18 percent. Florida law considers a driver impaired at 0.08 percent.
