SPRINGFIELD, Ore. (AP) - Springfield police arrested a 44-year-old man for felony hit and run that sent a man to the hospital in critical condition.

The Register-Guard reports (https://bit.ly/2ehR1cc ) that a pedestrian was struck around 8:50 p.m. Friday on Q Street by a Chevrolet Impala.

Springfield Officer Joe Burke says Springfield police and fire departments responded and learned that the Impala was headed east when it struck Steven Devilbiss of Springfield.



The Impala kept going and Devilbiss was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Witnesses told police the Impala’s license plate number and they police found the vehicle about a mile away.

Police arrested the driver, Jevona Williams, for felony hit and run. Williams is currently in Lane County Jail.
