Construction worker dies after falling into well in Bel Air

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Authorities say a construction worker has died after falling into a well in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Bel Air.

The Los Angeles Fire Department says the 27-year-old man was being lowered into the 50-foot well at the site of a home under construction when he fell in Friday.

Fire spokesman Brian Humphrey tells the Los Angeles Times (https://lat.ms/2eh2vge ) the man was declared dead at the scene. His name was not released.

The state agency in charge of investigating workplace accidents is sending a team to the scene.
