BRUCEVILLE-EDDY, Texas (AP) - Two people are dead after their SUV veered into oncoming traffic on a rural road southwest of Waco.

A man and woman from Belton were traveling toward Bruceville-Eddy on Friday afternoon when their SUV crossed the center line and struck an oncoming pickup truck.

The 30-year-old man and the 29-year-old woman died at the scene. Authorities did not identify them Friday.

Texas Department of Public Safety Sgt. D.L. Wilson told the Waco Tribune-Herald that the 41-year-old man in the pickup underwent emergency surgery after the wreck. He’s a McGregor resident who also was not identified.

It’s not clear what caused the SUV to cross the center line.
