KEYSTONE, Colo. (AP) - The Latest on the opening of Arapahoe Basin (all times local):

9:50 a.m.

Colorado’s ski season is underway.



Arapahoe Basin became the first resort in the state to open for the season Friday morning. Skiers and snowboarders lined up early to take advantage of the single intermediate run open for now.

The resort began making snow Oct. 3 and has an 18-inch base.

Loveland Ski Area has also been making snow and officials there expect to kick off their season sometime next week.

Last year, both resorts opened on the same day - Oct. 29.

Colorado’s ski season is getting underway with the opening of Arapahoe Basin.

Skiers and snowboarders are lined up waiting for the lift to start running at 9 a.m. Friday.

Only one intermediate run is opening for now at the resort, which began making snow Oct. 3.
