BENTONVILLE, Ark. (AP) - A Rogers man accused of putting rat poison in his wife’s coffee has been charged with attempted capital murder.
The Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette (https://bit.ly/2epysF0 ) reports that 45-year-old Bob Lee Steward is being held on $200,000 bond in the Benton County Jail. It wasn’t immediately clear if Steward has an attorney.
A probable cause affidavit says Rogers police were called to a home on Sept. 25, where Steward’s wife told officers her husband made her coffee while she was in the shower. The woman said she took a sip of the coffee and noticed a bitter taste before pouring it out in the sink and noticing a green substance.
