KEYSTONE, Colo. (AP) - Colorado’s ski season is getting underway with the opening of Arapahoe Basin.

Skiers and snowboarders are lined up waiting for the lift to start running at 9 a.m. Friday.

Only one intermediate run is opening for now at the resort, which began making snow Oct. 3.

Loveland Ski Area has also been making snow and officials there expect to kick off their season sometime next week.

Last year, both resorts opened on the same day - Oct. 29.
