CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) - A Carson City firefighter has retired after 38 years on the job, a tenure that included nearly every role in firefighting.
The Nevada Appeal reports (https://bit.ly/2e7FOKf ) that Assistant Fire Chief Tom Tarulli’s retirement became official in late September. He spent more than 25 years of his career in Largo, Florida, and the final 11 years in Carson City.
Tarulli has served as a firefighter, a battalion chief, county HazMat chief and assistant fire chief. He says he fell in love with northern Nevada when he and his wife visited Carson City and Lake Tahoe for their 1992 honeymoon. They moved to Carson City in 2005.
Shortly before his retirement, Tarulli was in charge of the command post of the Shooting Fire on C Hill.
