MADISON, Wis. (AP) - Wisconsin’s unemployment rate has dropped to its lowest level since 2001.
The state Department of Workforce Development reported Thursday that Wisconsin’s unemployment rate in September was 4.1 percent. That is down from 4.2 percent in August and less than the national average of 5 percent.
The rate last month was the lowest since February 2001.
The number of private-sector jobs dropped 8,500 in Wisconsin between August and September.
